Review of Bosch Laser Rangefinder DLR130K
This handy little device is slightly smaller and lighter than my trusty 25-foot tape measure. There is no substitute for your band (for example, there is no quick and easy way to hook off the edge of the board to measure an average), but it is many of the same measurements, often better and faster (do, for example, finding “inside “routes such as aa window inside or from one wall to another). It is also the measurements that a band is not easy (assuming only one person to measure), for example, picture yourself on a ladder and tried to find the distance from a window frame on the wall, if your band can not reach it , without disintegrating, or review the amount of soffit that more than 15 feet above your’s. . . .
You need a laser rangefinder? I can not answer that, but I can tell you that it saves me a considerable amount of time because I have a lot of carpentry / rehabilitation work to do many, many measurements included.
; Here’s what I know about this new DLR130 by Bosch, as follows:
o showed fractional measurements in inches with an accuracy of one-sixteenth inch. For example, 98-3 / 16 inch. The recent laser from Bosch would combine just feet and inches (eg 8 ‘2 -1/16 “). This is a really important new feature for me because my feeble mind does not cope well with his feet-and- Customs-style output – it gives me all kinds of cutting stupid mistakes. Thank you for adding this pure fractional inch Bosch only mode.
o It is small and slightly (less than I installed 25-foot tape measure) with a weight of just over six ounces with all four AAA batteries. It is 4 inches long, 2-1/4 inches wide and 1-1/4 inches thick.

o Complete with four AAA batteries and they last a long, long time (about 30,000 individual measurements or 5 hours operation in continuous measuring mode with 1st 5V alkaline). You can also NiMh rechargeable batteries such as: 1 2L, although they do not last as long because of their reduced the tension. This is a further technical improvement over the older lasers, which one 9V battery required. < br />
o comes with a nice bag (apparently) from ballistic nylon with Velcro hooks on the belt. A small problem here is that the belt is a little too small to secure a seat on a wide belt 2 inches to work. He does it, but it’s not much left of Velcro holding it in place.
o Continuous measurement mode is a nice gesture. So that you can use the laser more like a tape measure in certain applications (for example, if you mark every 16 cm along a wall to show where tunnels) should want. Most of the time it updates the display very quickly – about two times per second. The Manual says that in certain unfavorable circumstances this as little as 1 update every 4 seconds could be reduced, but I have not experienced this slowdown in my applications.

Not a very important function for my work, but I suspect those who could take really long distance measurements find it useful.
Here’s what I do not like:
o reference point (measure from the front or back) is not saved when the power is off. It always starts at the back of the device as a reference point. In practice, do not bother me, but other people might feel differently.
o Memory is displayed only in decimal feet or decimal meters. This can be a little irritating for people who are being operated in a pure tariff-mode, such as. It is more than a little uncomfortable, as a measure take 95 – 16.5 inches, save You remember it, call them and see it displayed as a 7th 942 meters.
o display is not illuminated back. This would be a nice feature to have, especially for those of us is with tired old eyes.
o laser beam is not parallel to the device. If you press the device flat against a wall or the floor or a flat surface, the beam rises from the surface into an angle of about one inch every 8 feet. To overcome this, one must keep apart the back of the laser light only the surface of the beam parallel. This was not a big deal, except that pressing the button with extent do you keep the device from the surface provide a wobbly, inaccurate situation. I would say this is the biggest problem with this device, and the only thing that makes me pause is highly recommend in it.
< br /> I spoke with Tanya Bosch customer service that was in them, and again promised to me. In the beginning I was impressed with the service, but returned a week without calling passed. I finally called Tanya, and she not only not because it is an excuse to recall that they thought indicated that it was a problem, and that newer versions do not have this deficiency. She promised to call me when they returned more (the Engineering listened knew), but it has now a week and I have not heard anything. I was invited to send my unit to the repair center at my expense, and ask for a “recalibration” but I’m not sure it’s worth the trouble or cost (and is not certain that they actually fix this problem).
I would get five stars on this product, apart from the poor customer support and non-parallel laser beam. I have an early version of this product (March 2009), then perhaps other buyers have more luck.

This is one of the best tools I have ever owned. It is for the installation of base board, toe mildew, mold and other crown trim fantastic. Very precise and most of the time of the measurement of 1.16 plus side, which is good. Much better than a tape measure and measure a one-man makes job.

I never write a product before written, but this meter is as useful and (for the most part) designed so that I do every time to when I appreciate it and I wanted to express it publicly. I know with some reservations, Joseph Mooney’s are in agreement, in particular, that the device does not retain its state when turned off. I find that if, on his side of the laser beam is used to close parallel. I have not needed customer support so I can not comment on that. But his ability to deal with the measurements in cases where a band would be difficult or impossible, is remarkable. And the accuracy is good. Every time I tickled it with me, how well and quickly it performs. My initial interest in this unit jumped out of my experience with the short lifespan of tapes. After buying a set of tapes with them and not within months or a year I decided to look for something more durable. I have the Bosch had only about three months, but I see no reason why an electronic device of this kind should not last for a long time. I recommend this tool.

I am a Real Estate Agent and I use the Bosch DLR130K Digital distance measurer Kit very often.
Go after the investigation of different models in the shops to get a real sense of them, I decided to try this one.
money was not an issue when considering to buy one, I was looking for the best, most accurate, fast and small device.
I am very happy with my choice.
The laser is strong and visible. It is small and very good looking. While some employees make bigger, yellow, bulky things that I tested and do not seem to work so well, I’m very proud of my sophisticated equipment.
What else can I say? I give it 5 stars. I love it!

So far this device is exactly what we needed in our architecture. The fact that in metric measure, feet and inches is just a few inches or a very big factor for us than if we give away our survey directly into our CAD software in inches (and fractions, or inch).
testing it around the office, it’s fast, easy to use and very accurate. Definitely better than a cassette tape for distances of 10ft, and more accurate. The only drawback is the 130ft limit, but for the price of this device can not beat. Do not hesitate any longer to get one!
